Exercise DOUBLE CENTURY
Sandringham, England 1986 |
Park House, birthplace of Diana the Princess of Wales, has been donated by HM the Queen to the Leonard Cheshire Foundation. The Foundation's plan for the house was to convert it into a luxury hotel for the chronically disabled. The conversion was carried out by a specialist firm from Cambridge. 60 Field Support Squadron undertook construction of the main and side gates, the driveways and the parking areas. The General Officer Commanding Eastern District visited on 5 November 1986 shortly before the Squadron finished the task. Park House opened in early 1987.
